Calculating Your Daily Water Intake Need
We all know that drinking the needed amount of water per day to stay hydrated is an important part of living a healthy lifestyle, but with so much information out there, knowing exactly your daily target water intake can be confusing. Recommendations change depending on your gender, size, age, activity level and of course, the source where your information is coming from. Only a doctor or dietitian can help you understand the exact amount of water you should be drinking, but The Mayo Clinic and U.S. National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine recommends daily water intake in simple terms as:
– About 15.5 cups (3.7 liters) of fluids a day for men
– About 11.5 cups (2.7 liters) of fluids a day for women
If you break that down to ounces, that is 124 fluid ounces for the average man and 92 fluid ounces for the average woman. Does that seem like a lot? It’s important to remember that your daily water intake comes from many sources. The food we eat and other beverages contribute to your intake, but the easiest and healthiest way to hydrate is to drink more water.
Tips to help stay hydrated
Carry a bottle of evamor water – If you don’t normally drink water and you’re trying to reach the recommended intake levels, carry a water bottle with you throughout the day. 124 or 92 ounces might seem intimidating when first starting, but look at it this way — drinking one evamor 64 oz. bottle in the first half of the day puts you well on your way and is a great place to start.
Eat more fruits & vegetables – Many fruits and vegetables are over 90% water by weight. Substituting carbs with those healthier options will help contribute to your hydration.
Drink water with each meal – In addition to carrying a water bottle with you during the day, try drinking a glass of water with each meal. Not only will it assist with your hydration, but it can also help you avoid heavily sweetened drinks — like sodas or energy drinks
Why drink evamor alkaline water?
evamor is great-tasting alkaline artesian water, with a naturally high pH of 8.8 – 9.1. Take a sip in the right direction, make a change in the water you drink, and harness the power of alkalinity to balance your diet and your life.
