Acid Versus Alkaline Diet

The foods you eat can bring an acidic, neutral or alkaline load to the body. Over the years, the Western diet has became more and more acidic, which may be a contributor to some common health problems, especially bone-related diseases. The body needs to keep its pH within a narrow range by using a buffer system, and a diet rich in acid-producing foods will force the body to use its largest depot of minerals: your bones. Including more alkaline-forming foods is a good way to maintain your bones’ integrity.
